Basically, there are two method to correct the Aadhar card:-

1. Online Method.

2. Offline Method.

1. Online method:- In this method, it is mandatory to have activated Register Mobile Number(RMN) of your Aadhar card and without RMN, you cannot able to correct it. 

2. Offline method:- If you don't have Register Mobile Number(RMN), then also don't worry about it in this condition. Now online Aadhar Card correction is very easy. Our honorable Prime Minister "Narendra Modi" has mainly focused on the digitalization of our India and also launched a Yojana named as "Digital Bharat". Under this Yojana, various government's work directly shifted to the online, due to which every citizen of India can easily interact and complete the government works without facing any types of hassles.

Now to correct the Aadhar Card online you have to follow the steps given below:-

1. At first you have to visit the official website of UIDAI and then you have to click on the "Update Demographic Data Online" in update aadhaar section.

2. Now you are visited on the "Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal". Here, you have to click on the proceed to update Aadhaar.

3. Next,you have to enter the 12 digit Aadhaar number and captcha and then click on the send OTP. Just below you have to enter the sended OTP to login into your Aadhar account. 

4. After Login (OTP Authentication) in your account, You can change your Name, DOB, Gender, Language, Address, Email, Mobile number and  etc. Choose any of them which you can want to update or change and then click on the proceed.

5. Keep this in your mind that you have to also submit some documents as a proof which you want to update.

6. After updating you have to pay 50 rupees as a fee charge. You can pay through many methods, such as Debit card ,Credit card, Net banking, UPI, QR code, ATM and etc.

7. Download, save and print all the filled document and payment slip for security purpose.

Be carefull while updating your detail on Aadhar Card and don't do any mistake again.You can also check the "Update Status" of your aadhar card.

To check "Update Status" of your aadhaar, you have to again visit to the "Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal" and scrowl down and click on "Check Update Status" tab. Enter your twelve digit aadhaar number and captcha and then authenticate with OTP.Now you can see your  status of your Aadhaar Update.

Q1. What details can I update in Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal ?

You can easily change the Demographic details (Name, Address, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile Number, Email Id) as well as Biometrics (Finger Prints, Iris & Photograph) of your Aadhaar card. And,if you are not able to change,then you will have to visit nearst Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Center.

Q2. Is it necessary to have Aadhaar's registered Mobile Number while requesting for any kind of  aadhaar update/correction ?

If you are using  aadhaar online Self Service Update Portal (SSUP) for update, your mobile number must be registered with Aadhaar, otherwise you can visit to the nearest Permanent Enrolment centre with Supporting Documents.
